Tiësto is a Dutch DJ and record producer whose real name is Tijs Michiel Verwest. Born in 1969, he has become one of the most influential figures in electronic dance music, working across trance, house, progressive, and electro house genres. Mix magazine named him "The Greatest DJ of All Time" in a 2010/2011 fan poll, while DJ Mag readers voted him the "best DJ of the last 20 years" in 2013. He is widely recognized as the "Godfather of EDM" for his pioneering contributions to the genre and its global expansion.
