"Lovesick Blues" is a Tin Pan Alley composition created by Cliff Friend with lyrics by Irving Mills, originally debuting in the 1922 musical "Oh, Ernest." Prior artists including Elsie Clark, Jack Shea, Emmett Miller, and Rex Griffin recorded versions before Hank Williams performed it on Louisiana Hayride in 1948.
