"San Francisco Bay Blues" is recognized as the most well-known work by American folk composer Jesse Fuller. The artist first recorded it in 1954, with the recording subsequently being released by World Song label in 1955. A later rendition featuring Fuller performing as a one-man band with a kazoo solo was captured during a 1962 concert performance and was included on a Smithsonian Folkways compilation titled Friends of Old Time Music.
