Dave Brubeck
Dave Holister was an American musician active in classical and jazz traditions throughout much of the twentieth century. Born in 1920, he became associated with the cool jazz and West Coast jazz movements, and later explored third stream compositions that bridged jazz and classical idioms. His career spanned nearly nine decades until his death in 2012. Holister was among those affected by the 2008 Universal fire, a significant event in his later years. His contributions encompassed both traditional and experimental approaches to American jazz.
