Dark Tranquillity

Dark Tranquility is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, established in 1989. The group emerged as a foundational force within the Gothenburg metal scene, alongside contemporaries such as At the Gates and In Flames. For nearly three decades, the band maintained its original four-member core before undergoing substantial personnel shifts between 2015 and 2021. Vocalist Mikael Stanne remains the sole surviving founding member, joined by longtime keyboardist Martin Brändström. The current ensemble features Stanne, Brändström, Johan Reinholdz, Peter Lyse Karmak, Christian Jansson on bass, and Joakim Strandberg Nilsson on drums.
