"Gypsy" served as the debut single for British progressive rock and hard rock band Uriah Heep. The track appears as the opening song on their first album, …Very 'Eavy …Very 'Umble, which came out in 1970. Mick Box and David Byron composed the piece. The album version extends beyond six and a half minutes, whereas the single version is trimmed to under three minutes. The composition features an introduction, conclusion, and three verses without a chorus section, and has become a regular fixture in the band's concert repertoire.
