Chanté Moore is an American soul and contemporary R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer who emerged as a prominent artist in the 1990s. Born in 1967, she became the inaugural artist signed to Louis Silas Jr.'s Silas Records label. Her 1992 debut album Precious established her commercial presence, with two singles charting in the R&B top 20 and the album achieving Gold certification. Moore reached crossover popularity in the late 1990s through the top ten hit "Chanté's Got a Man" from her 1999 album This Moment Is Mine. She later explored hip hop-influenced production on Exposed (2000), which featured the internationally successful single "Straight Up," solidifying her versatility across soul, ballad, and neo-soul styles throughout her career.
