Cut Above the Rest is the seventh studio album by the English glam rock band Sweet, released through Polydor Records in April 1979. It marked their initial album release after their original lead vocalist Brian Connolly departed the group. Although Connolly had started recording vocal tracks for the album at TownHouse Studio in London, his performances were removed and replaced with vocals provided by bassist Steve Priest and guitarist Andy Scott. Some early recordings of tracks like "Play All Night" and "Stay With Me" that featured Connolly's original vocals were later discovered and included on the rarities compilation Platinum Rare.
