"Relax" was the debut single by English band Frankie Goes to Hollywood, released by ZTT Records in 1983. It entered the UK charts in November 1983 but did not reach the Top 40 until early January 1984. The song became highly controversial and commercially successful, reaching number one on 28 January 1984 and eventually selling approximately two million copies in the UK, making it one of the decade's biggest-selling singles. It spent 37 consecutive weeks in the Top 40, with most of that period coinciding with a BBC radio airplay ban.
