Later that same year, both the Everly Brothers and Wayne Newton released their own versions, which both appeared on the lower end of the US charts, with Newton's reaching number 106 and the Everlys' reaching number 114. The Everly Brothers' version performed significantly better in Canada, reaching number 4. In 1968, Joe Dolan and the Drifters recorded an Irish version that reached the top 10 on the Irish Singles Chart.
