The Duhks
The Duhks were a Canadian folk fusion ensemble that originated in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2002. The group combined traditional folk with diverse North American musical influences, incorporating soul, gospel, old-time country, and zydeco into their sound. Their instrumentation featured banjo, fiddle, guitar, percussion, and vocals, while their arrangements frequently drew from Irish dance music traditions and integrated Latin percussion elements alongside Celtic and Cajun fiddle styles. Active for fourteen years, the band disbanded in 2016.
