"Bimbo" was written in the late 1940s by Glenn O'Dell but credited to other songwriters. Jim Reeves recorded his version in 1953, which became his second number-one hit on the Billboard country chart in early 1954. The song was later included on a 1965 RCA Victor compilation album. Reeves' rendition was a novelty hit that differed from his later signature Nashville sound ballads.
