Jim Reeves wrote and originally recorded this country music single in 1957. The initial release achieved significant chart success, reaching number three on the country singles chart for a two-week period. A re-recorded version emerged in 1960, which performed respectably on the country chart at number eight and crossed over to the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 at number 31. This later version served as the B-side to another Reeves single.
