Nelust Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer who rose to prominence as a founding member of the Fugees, alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras. Born in Haiti and raised in the United States, Jean served as the group's primary producer and guitarist, helping establish their groundbreaking sound. The Fugees' 1996 album The Score achieved massive commercial success and became one of the era's best-selling records. Following the group's prominence, Jean pursued a solo career beginning with The Carnival in 1997, which featured successful singles including "We Trying to Stay Alive" and "Gone till November." His work spans hip-hop, reggae, R&B, and dance hall influences.
