The Three Sounds

Three Sounds was an American jazz piano trio established in 1956. The group became known for their work in the hard bop and soul jazz idioms, contributing to the jazz landscape throughout the 1950s and 1960s. As a piano-led trio, they developed a sound that bridged accessible melodic sensibilities with the improvisational depth characteristic of modern jazz. The ensemble remained active for nearly two decades before disbanding in 1973, leaving behind a notable catalog within the jazz tradition.
