The New Christy Minstrels

The New Christy Minstrels are an American folk music ensemble founded by Randy Sparks in 1961. Operating as a large-scale group, they became prominent figures in the contemporary folk and folk pop revival movement. Their debut album, released in 1962, earned Grammy recognition and maintained a sustained presence on the Billboard 200 chart. The group achieved commercial success with multiple hit recordings, including "Green, Green," "Saturday Night," "Today," "Denver," and a rendition of "This Land Is Your Land." Over their career, they have released more than 20 albums, establishing themselves as notable contributors to American folk music.
