Black Celebration is the fifth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released in March 1986 through Mute Records in the UK and Sire Records in the US. The album was recorded across London and West Berlin and followed a "live the album" production approach inspired by filmmaker Werner Herzog. This methodology created significant conflict among the band members and producers, ultimately preventing further collaborations between Depeche Mode and the production team on future projects.
