Adelmo Fornaciari, professionally known as Zucchero, is an Italian singer, musician and songwriter whose stage name derives from a childhood nickname given by his primary school teacher. Born in 1955, Zucchero has built a career blending gospel, soul, blues and rock influences with both Italian ballads and rhythmic R&B-boogie compositions. Widely recognized as the pioneer who brought blues to mainstream Italian audiences, he is credited as the "father of Italian blues." Zucchero remains one of Europe's most successful blues artists, maintaining significant international recognition throughout his career.
