Talking Heads were an American rock band that emerged from New York City's music scene in 1975. Led by vocalist and guitarist David Byrne, the ensemble also featured drummer Chris Frantz, bassist Tina Weymouth, and multi-instrumentalist Jerry Harrison. The group distinguished itself by blending punk sensibilities with art rock, funk, and global musical influences, establishing themselves as innovators of new wave music throughout the 1980s. Known for their intellectually adventurous approach and distinctive visual aesthetic, Talking Heads became one of the era's most influential and critically celebrated acts before disbanding in 1991.
