Simply Red is an English pop and soul band established in Manchester in 1985. Led by vocalist and songwriter Mick Hucknall, the only founding member still with the group, Simply Red has become known for their blend of soul, soft rock, and dance-pop influences. The band has released thirteen studio albums since their 1985 debut Picture Book, with notable releases including A New Flame, Stars, Life, and Blue, all of which reached the top of the UK Albums Chart. Stars stands as one of the best-selling albums in British music history, cementing the group's significance in pop and soul music.
