John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne is an English singer, songwriter, and media personality renowned as a foundational figure in heavy metal music. He co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968, emerging as the band's lead vocalist during their peak period in the 1970s. Osbourne performed on the group's first eight studio albums, including their self-titled debut, Paranoid, and Master of Reality, before departing the band in 1979. Known by the epithet "Prince of Darkness," he became a defining voice in heavy metal and has maintained a significant presence in rock music and popular culture throughout his career.
