Anggun is an Indonesian and French singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality born in Jakarta on April 29, 1974. She began performing professionally at age seven and released her first children's album at nine. Rising to prominence in 1989 as a teenage rock star, she quickly established herself in the Indonesian music scene, releasing five studio albums in her native language by 1993. Her single "Mimpi" has been recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the 150 greatest Indonesian songs of all time, cementing her status as a significant figure in Asian popular music.
