Mason Durell Betha, professionally known as Mase, is an American rapper who rose to prominence through his association with Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs and Bad Boy Records, which he joined in 1996. He initially gained attention as Combs' hype man before establishing himself as a solo artist. His debut album, Harlem World, released in October 1997, topped the Billboard 200 and achieved quadruple platinum status. That same year, Mase delivered multiple chart-topping collaborations, including appearances on the Notorious B.I.G.'s "Mo Money Mo Problems" and Combs' "Been Around the World," while his solo singles "Feel So Good," "What You Want," and "Lookin' at Me" all achieved top-ten placement on the Billboard Hot 100.
