Love Hina is a Japanese manga series created by Ken Akamatsu that ran in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from October 1998 to October 2001. The narrative follows protagonist Keitarō Urashima's journey to reconnect with a girl from his childhood and fulfill a promise to attend the University of Tokyo together. The serialized work was compiled into 14 tankōbon volumes by Kodansha. The series achieved international reach through licensing agreements with Tokyopop for North America and the United Kingdom, Madman Entertainment for Australia, and Chuang Yi for Singapore. The franchise expanded beyond manga to include novelizations by anime screenwriters, also distributed internationally by Tokyopop.
