Lime Spiders
Lime Spiders were an Australian punk rock band formed in 1979, led by vocalist Mick Blood alongside drummer Richard Lawson and guitarist David Sparks. The group achieved commercial success with their 1987 debut album The Cave Comes Alive!, which charted in the top 60 on the Kent Music Report Albums Chart. Their breakthrough single "Weirdo Libido" reached the top 50 and gained further prominence when its music video premiered on ABC TV's rage program in April 1987, becoming the show's first music video. The track was later featured in the 1988 film Young Einstein. The band disbanded in 1990. Critics noted their distinctive approach to punk, characterized by aggressive vocals and distorted guitar work that blended elements of acid punk and heavy metal.
