The Lemon Pipers were an American rock band from Oxford, Ohio, active during the late 1960s. Emerging during the psychedelic pop era, the group achieved significant commercial success with their 1968 single "Green Tambourine," which topped the US charts and became a landmark moment in bubblegum pop history—the genre's first number-one hit. Though their commercial peak was brief, lasting from 1966 to 1969, the band left a lasting mark on pop and rock music of the period through their infectious blend of bubblegum sensibilities and classic rock elements.
