"Georgia on My Mind" is a composition from 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell. Carmichael made the first recording of the piece that same year at RCA Victor Studios in New York City. The song became most closely associated with Ray Charles, a Georgia native, who included it on his 1960 album The Genius Hits the Road.
