22 Pistepirkko is a Finnish indie rock band established in 1980 in the rural village of Utajärvi in Northern Finland. The group relocated to Helsinki in 1985, where they developed their distinctive sound. Originally performing primarily in Finnish, the band later transitioned to recording and performing music in English. Their name derives from the Finnish word for a 22-spot ladybird, reflecting their unconventional approach to rock music.
