Cuca
La Cuca is a Mexican alternative metal band originating from Guadalajara, Jalisco, formed in 1989 by vocalist and painter José Fors. The group performed their first official concert on February 14, 1990. Their 1992 debut album, La Invasión de los Blátidos, distinguished them within the Mexican music landscape through its aggressive instrumentation and irreverent, profanity-laden lyrics—a departure from contemporary Mexican musical conventions. The band's name references the cockroach, with the album title drawing from the scientific classification of the insect. La Cuca's bold approach to hard rock helped establish them as pioneers in the country's alternative metal scene.
