Rhonda Kye Fleming

Kye Fleming is an American singer-songwriter and music publisher based in Nashville, Tennessee. Born in 1951, she rose to prominence during the 1980s with a series of commercially successful compositions written in collaboration with major country artists including Ronnie Milsap and Barbara Mandrell. Her catalog includes some of country music's most enduring hits, among them "Smoky Mountain Rain," "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool," and "I Wouldn't Have Missed It for the World." Fleming's contributions to the genre have been recognized with her 2009 induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and over 42 BMI Awards, including three consecutive years as BMI Songwriter of the Year. Fifteen of her compositions have each achieved one million broadcast performances, and in 2012 she was honored in the Country Music Hall of Fame's Poets and Prophets series.
