"Think" was composed by Aretha Franklin and Ted White, with Franklin providing the initial recording. Released as a single in 1968 from the album Aretha Now, the song achieved significant commercial success, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and marking Franklin's seventh top 10 hit. It also topped the Hot Rhythm & Blues Singles chart, becoming her sixth number one on that particular chart. The song was later re-recorded for the 1980 film The Blues Brothers and again in 1989 for the album Through the Storm. Pitchfork ranked it fifteenth among the greatest songs of the 1960s.
