The Kingsmen
Kingsmen is an American rock and roll group that formed in 1959. The band became known for their contributions to classic pop, rock, and rhythm & blues, drawing heavily from garage rock and proto-punk influences. Their energetic style helped define the rock and roll sound of their era, blending elements of rock and pop rock with raw, youthful energy characteristic of the period. The group's recordings were among those affected by the 2008 Universal fire, which destroyed a significant portion of the company's master tape vault.
