The Ames Brothers were an American vocal quartet composed of four siblings from Malden, Massachusetts. Active from 1948 to 1963, the group rose to prominence during the 1950s as interpreters of traditional pop music. Their close harmonies and accessible style helped define the era's popular sound, blending elements of big band and early space age pop aesthetics. The Ames Brothers became one of the decade's most recognizable vocal ensembles, leaving a significant mark on American popular music before the group's dissolution in the early 1960s.
