Kind of Like Spitting was an American indie rock band that emerged from Portland, Oregon in 1996. Led by singer-songwriter Ben Barnett, the group became known for introspective, emotionally resonant music that drew comparisons to influential artists such as Elliott Smith, Mark Eitzel, Billy Bragg, and Robert Pollard. The band remained active throughout the 1990s and 2000s before disbanding in 2006, leaving behind a catalog that reflected the indie rock sensibilities of their era.
