Bryan Adams' debut solo studio album was released in February 1980 through A&M Records, following his previous work as the lead vocalist of the Canadian hard rock band Sweeney Todd. Two singles from the album achieved chart success on Canada's RPM 100 Singles chart, with "Hidin' from Love" reaching number 64 and "Give Me Your Love" reaching number 91.
