KC and the Sunshine Band

K.C. & The Sunshine Band is an American disco and funk group formed in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida. Led by vocalist Harry Wayne Casey, whose initials inspired the band's name, the group drew their full moniker from Casey's surname and Florida's "Sunshine State" designation. The band achieved major commercial success throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, scoring five number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including "Get Down Tonight," "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," "I'm Your Boogie Man," and "Please Don't Go." Their infectious blend of disco, funk, and dance-pop made them one of the defining acts of the era's dance music scene.
