Johnny Winter

Johnny Winter was an American blues rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter active from 1944 to 2014. Known for his energetic live performances and virtuosic slide guitar technique, Winter became a prominent figure in blues rock during the late 1960s and beyond. He worked extensively as a producer, overseeing three Grammy-winning albums for blues legend Muddy Waters. Winter's own recording career yielded multiple Grammy nominations. His contributions to blues music earned him induction into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1988, and Rolling Stone ranked him 63rd among the greatest guitarists of all time in 2003.
