Johnny Burnette was an American rockabilly and rock and roll musician born in 1934. In 1952, he co-founded the Rock and Roll Trio alongside his brother Dorsey Burnette and Paul Burlison, a group that helped pioneer the rockabilly sound in its early years. As both a singer and songwriter, Burnette contributed to the development of rock and roll during the 1950s. His promising career was tragically cut short when he drowned in a boating accident on August 14, 1964, at the age of 30.
