Alsou is a Russian-Tatar pop singer born in 1983. She gained international recognition when she represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000, finishing second with her entry "Solo." The strong placement introduced her music to European audiences and established her as a significant figure in the pop music scene. In 2009, she hosted the final of the Eurovision Song Contest when it took place in Moscow. Alsou received the Merited Artist of Russia award in 2018, recognizing her contributions to music and culture.
