The Allman Brothers Band

The Allman Brothers Band was an American rock ensemble founded in Jacksonville, Florida in 1969 by siblings Duane and Gregg Allman alongside Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny Johanson. Relocating to Macon, Georgia, the group became known for blending blues, jazz, and country influences with extended live improvisations characteristic of jam bands. Their dynamic approach to rock music and instrumental virtuosity established them as influential figures in Southern rock and American popular music throughout their active years until 2014.
