Allison Moorer

Allison Moorer is an American country and alternative country singer-songwriter born in 1972. After signing with MCA Nashville in 1997, she achieved early success with her debut single "A Soft Place to Fall," which she co-wrote with Gwil Owen. The song, featured in Robert Redford's film The Horse Whisperer, earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song in 1999, and Moorer performed at that year's Oscar ceremony. Throughout her career, she has released ten albums and established herself as a respected songwriter, with her compositions recorded by notable artists including Trisha Yearwood, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Steve Earle, and Hayes Carll.
