Jimmy LaFave was an American folk singer-songwriter born in 1955. After relocating to Stillwater, Oklahoma, he developed a deep commitment to the legacy of Woody Guthrie and became an influential advocate for folk music traditions. LaFave served as an Advisory Board member and frequent performer at the annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, helping to preserve and promote American folk heritage. He remained active in music until his death in 2017, contributing significantly to the folk music community.
