The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus and Mary Chain are a Scottish alternative rock band originating from East Kilbride, formed in the mid-1980s. Centered on the songwriting partnership of brothers Jim and William Reid, the group has maintained these two members as its core throughout its history. The band played a formative role in shaping the noise pop and shoegaze movements of the era. Across their career, they achieved considerable chart success in the United Kingdom, securing multiple top 40 singles entries and two top 10 hits on the UK Singles Chart.
