"Saturday Night" was recorded by Scottish pop rock group Bay City Rollers for their debut album Rollin' (1974). Written and produced by Bill Martin and Phil Coulter, the song initially released in the UK in June 1973 but failed to chart. A re-recorded version with different vocals was released in North America during August 1975, where it achieved chart-topping success in both the US and Canada.
