Jean-Jacques Goldman is a French singer-songwriter and record producer born in Paris who became one of the most commercially successful artists in French popular music. Active since 1975, he achieved major success with his solo work throughout the 1980s, establishing himself as a leading figure in French rock and chanson française. In the 1990s, he expanded his reach further as part of the collaborative trio Fredericks Goldman Jones, which produced numerous hit recordings. Following Johnny Hallyday's death in 2017, Goldman became the highest-grossing living French pop rock artist, maintaining enduring popularity across the French-speaking world.
