The J. Geils Band was an American rock group founded in 1967 in Worcester, Massachusetts, led by guitarist John Geils. The lineup featured vocalist Peter Wolf and keyboardist Seth Justman as primary songwriters, alongside harmonica and horn player Richard Salwitz, drummer Stephen Bladd, and bassist Danny Klein. Throughout the 1970s, the band built a following with blues rock rooted in R&B traditions. In the early 1980s, they shifted toward new wave influences, a transition that propelled them to their greatest commercial success. The band remained active until 2015.
