Joe Jackson released this song in 1982 as the opening track from his fifth studio album, Night and Day. Jackson wrote the composition himself and collaborated with David Kershenbaum on production. While the single achieved modest chart success in the United Kingdom, reaching number 89, it performed significantly better in Dutch-speaking regions and Australia, where it climbed to number 6. The track was later reinterpreted by Tori Amos for her 2001 album of gender-reversed interpretations.
