"Black Gold" is a rock song by the Minneapolis-based band Soul Asylum, composed by their lead vocalist Dave Pirner. The track was issued in January 1993 through Columbia Records as the second single from their sixth album, Grave Dancers Union, released in 1992. The song achieved significant commercial success, reaching the top 10 on both the US Billboard Album Rock Tracks and Modern Rock Tracks charts. The accompanying music video was helmed by filmmaker Zack Snyder, who also worked on the band's "Somebody to Shove" video, and featured actor George Wendt in a supporting role.
