The Irish Rovers

The Irish Rovers is a musical group established in Toronto, Ontario in 1963, taking their name from the traditional tune "The Irish Rover." Rooted in folk rock and Celtic traditions, the ensemble became instrumental in introducing Irish music to North American audiences through an international television program. They achieved widespread recognition for numerous recordings, including "The Unicorn," "Drunken Sailor," "Wasn't That a Party," and several other traditional and contemporary songs that remain popular in their genre. The group's contributions to popularizing Irish folk music throughout the continent established them as significant cultural ambassadors during their career.
