The Incredible String Band

The Incredible String Band were a Scottish psychedelic folk group founded in Edinburgh in 1966 by Clive Palmer, Robin Williamson, and Mike Heron. After Palmer's departure, Williamson and Heron maintained the ensemble as its core, gradually incorporating additional musicians including Licorice McKechnie, Rose Simpson, and Malcolm Le Maistre. The band became known for their distinctive blend of folk and psychedelic influences throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s. They disbanded in 1974, though the group reunited in 1999 and performed sporadically with various lineups until 2006.
